Itinerary

Day 01 : Airport / Colombo

Program

  • Arrive at the Bandaranaike International Airport where you will be welcomed by a representative of Lotus DMC Lanka or a tour guide
  • Check in to the hotel, relax and unwind
  • In the evening visit Kelaniya Temple
  • The temple is known for its image of the sprawling Buddha and paintings that paint the major events in the life of Buddha

Day 02 : Colombo / Anuradhapura

Program

  • After Breakfast, visit Gangaramaya Temple
  • Situated in the bustling inner-city Colombo, nearby the scenic Beira Lake, this intriguing temple complex is simultaneously a popular attraction
  • Afterward, proceed to Anuradhapura and, rest and relax in the Hotel

Day 03 : Anuradhapura 

Program

  • After Breakfast you will get the opportunity to engage in a full day tour in Anuradhapura, covering Sri Maha Bodhi, Samadhi Statue, Ruwanweliseya, Thuparamaya, Jethawanaramaya, Abayagiriya

Day 04:  Anuradhapura / Mihintale / Dambulla

Program

  • After breakfast, will be transferred to Dambulla visit Mihintale rock temple en-route to Dambulla and witness the place believed to be the place Buddhism inaugurated.
  • Proceed to Dambulla cave temples afterward
  • Dambulla is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka

Day 05: Dambulla / Kandy

Program

  • After Breakfast, proceed to Kandy where you will be able to get deep into Buddhist culture.
  • Visit Temple of the Tooth Relic which is considered to be the holiest Buddhist temple in Sri Lanka
  • Afterward, proceed to LankaThilak Viharaya
  • This historical temple was built by the Gampola king, King Buwanekabahu the fourth, in 1344 AD

Day 06: Kandy / Katharagama

Program

  • After Breakfast, you will be transferred to Katharagama, a pilgrimage town sacred to Buddhist, Hindu and indigenous Vedda people of Sri Lanka.
  • Relax and unwind at the Hotel, spend rest of the day leisurely

Day 07: Katharagama  / Kaluthara

Program 

  • After Breakfast proceed to Wadahiti Kanda and engage with religious activities
  • climb to the top of this mountain is a unique spiritual experience and even for a non-believer, the panoramic view and the peaceful atmosphere from the top will make the climb worthwhile.
  • Visit Katharagama Devalaya and Thuparamaya in the evening

Day 08: Katharagama / Kaluthara

Program

  • After Breakfast, you will be transferred to Kaluthara
  • En- route visit Buddhist temple Werukannala
  • The Wewurukannala Vihara temple is dominated by an image of a seated Buddha at a 160ft high.
  • Afterward, proceed to Pigeon Island Matara which is connected with the land side by an attractive hanging bridge
  • The next destination is Kaluthara Bodhiya by the side of Kalu River just south to the Kalutara city, which is believed to be one of the 32 saplings of the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi in Anuradhapura
